Parents in Pain and The Biggest Loser

I really like the TV program The Biggest Loser.   I find it very inspirational to see people make so many changes in their lives.   They have to face their core issues and work really, really hard to overcome their weight problem.   I feel like we are in a Biggest Loser program sometimes!  Our struggle as parents in  pain brings many changes in our lives, too.   It takes a lot of hard work, patience, perseverance and endurance to overcome in our situation.

Hard Work.  Perseverance.   Endurance.   Acceptance.  Never give up.

We must accept the hard experiences being our child’s parent brings to our lives as “therapeutic workouts” planned by our heavenly “trainer” who is committed and resolved to get us up to full fitness!  We need to listen to Him and do whatever he says to achieve the “health” we are in need of.

What do you think your heavenly trainer is telling you to do today?  Show unconditional love in a new creative way?  Stop enabling?  Let go and let Him work?  Take One Day at a Time?  Stop worrying and trust Him more?  Go see a counselor or take your child to one (if still in your home)?   Find a support group?   Stop feeling guilty?  Remember that He is in control and you are not?

This Bible verse encourages me, “. . . let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us . . . let us fix our eyes on Jesus  . . . so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”  (Hebrews 12: 1b, 2a & 3)
